  1. When I got the item I though it could be easy to set it up, but I was wrong. The instructions are so bad that it includes only one paper with no pictures, tools are not numbered or named. I got the picture from the internet, but it was still difficult to figure out which screw was going in which hole. The screws were too big and too small… I had hard time setting it up, It took me almost three <3> hours to set it up.

    But the bumbells are great.

And one star is because i cant put lower then that…

  2. I WANT TO BUY THE BOWFLEX SELECTTECH 1090 DUMBELLS WHICH WEIGH 90LBS EACH. I CAN’T FIND A STAND MADE FOR THE 1090′s. WILL THIS STAND WORK WITH THEM OR WILL THE EXTRA 60LBS OF WEIGHT CAUSE PROBLEMS? ANYBODY USING THIS COMBO THAT CAN PROVIDE ME WITH SOME FEEDBACK?

  3. First the stand is necessary addition to the Selectech weights. It is attractive and useful. The direction are poorly written but the pictures will guide you properly.

The bolts are very difficult to screw in using the tools so have a socket set(sockets must be deep) and good hex wrenches available and you should have no problems.

I recently purchased a set of Bowflex 552 Dumbbells during Black Friday and immediately realized the need for a stand to place my weights on. Unfortunately, I could only find one stand that was compatible with this dumbbell set (I like having options to compare between).

One comment I have read on other reviews was that the stand was hard to install and the instructions were not adequate – I had no issues with the either the installation or instructions. It took me about an hour to setup.

    Pro:

-Will save your body from bending over to pick up weights

    -Sleek look

    Con:

    -Cost

    Conclusion

You have to have something to place your weights on, and other than making a shelf or putting them on some type of table/stand, this is the best thing out there. Recommended if you can afford it.

FYI – If you don’t care about the look of your gym, you can simply place these weights on top of the styrofoam that the dumbbells are packed in. Doesn’t look good and not as sturdy, but it did the trick for the first month before I caved and bought this stand.

I love the stand. The instructions were easy to follow and I had this together in about an hour while watching TV. I like the fact that the stand can be used with or without wheels for mobility. Very well made and no complaints here!
